About
My name is Naomi, here’s a bit about me…
I am a dancer, lover, mother to 3, creative soul that loves learning, travelling, festival-life and connection.
Modern life can be rubbish (LOL - ancient Blur album)! Like so many people, I find it hard to manage my life ‘stuff’,overwhelm, anxiety, work, relationships and REMEMBER to live with kindness, love and joy. This has led me to a path of Yoga, massage, sound & energy over the past 20 years. As I support mySELF physically, mentally, emotionally & energetically, I share it with you!
What am I up to right now? I am currently studying with the prestigious JING Institute to be an Advance Clinical Massage Therapist - YAY, back to university. After 10 years of massage therapy and 18 years of teaching Yoga under my belt, I felt it was time for a little sideways move….
I continue to support women through all stages of life - and their families & friends too.
A bit more..
My Yoga began at a young age. As a child of a yoga teacher, I spent many years skulking behind the scenes of 1980s Yoga & festival life. As an adult, Yoga offered me a sense of peace when I worked 9-5 in London, burning the candle. It became a way of life whilst travelling through India (pre-children) and held me together taught whilst caring for my first babies!
I taught my first hatha Yoga class in Colchester back in 2008, when my son was a young baby and my eldest a toddler. The easiest thing to do was to put the little ones to bed and then teach - the 8 o’clock class ran for for many years and I taught women like me!
My three year British Wheel of Yoga training kept me on track mentally & physically (with Elaine Fletcher) - I am so proud of this achievement. Although this time was full of joy, it was bloody hard too! I was soon drawn to other specialist Yoga trainings for Women, completing Pregnancy Yoga training in 2010 (with Wendy Teasdill) and hundreds of hours since, with some of the world’s top Yoga practitioners. I support my own needs through yoga and love learning & updating my skills, so I can pass on my knowledge and experience to you too!
Yoga for Mum & Baby, Postnatal Yoga and Women’s Yoga Therapy (Uma Dinsmore-Tuli),
Toddler Yoga & Fertility Yoga (Birthlight)
Menopause Yoga (Petra Coveney)
Yoga for Children (Christiane Kerr)
Yin Yoga (Norman Blair)
Yoga nidra Foundation (Yoga Nidra Network)
Prana Kriya Yoga (Yogi Ashokananda)
I have 18 years experience teaching in gyms, for charities, in schools, in the work setting, for the NHS, Mind and the MS Society and privately and I have been teaching pregnancy and postnatal yoga for over 15 years. Everyone can access the benefits of Yoga, even if they don’t think so!
Singing and music always brought me great calm & inner space as a child. So in 2018 I decided to do some Sound healing with the lovely Anne Malone of Oasis of Sound. I absolutely love giving group & individual Sound Baths and seeing the amazing soothing effects of vibration & frequency.
Baby massage helped me learn the power of positive touch as a way of soothing the nervous system. So, in 2013, I decided to learn how to offer this to adults too, with a Level 3 qualificatin in Holisitc Massage. It was a natural progression to support people having babies - pregnancy massage and Closing the Bones quickly followed.
My Womb & Fertility Training in 2018 with Clare Blake opened the door to energy work via the body, I went on to do an ‘exploring intuition course’ with Leanne Heath locally and Ive enjoyed training at the Women’s School of Shamanic Studies - Shamanka, with 94 year old, ELiana Harvey since , who sadly passed away this year.
I fuse massage, sound and energy together in bespoke & intuitive sessions to support people through tricky times - hysterechtomies, c-sections, heavy energy from former relationships to name a few... I love this work!
